Director, Sales

The director of sales is responsible for managing the total sales process by prospecting, presenting, negotiating and contracting of new software sales to existing EDS SOLCORP clients to attain sales quota. The director also develops yearly sales strategy plans to identify a strong pipeline of potential customers to support and obtain business financial objectives and occasionally supports other regions in sales activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Business planning
    • Plays a leading role in developing marketing strategy and providing input into future product enhancements to EDS EDS SOLCORP's product management group
    • Keeps abreast of industry trends and best practices
  • Leadership
    • Displays and demonstrates the ability to mentor and share knowledge with team members, peers and management
    • Provides leadership, guidance, and direction to team members to ensure activities and tasks are in line with corporate objectives and vision
    • Supports and promotes an environment that fosters creative thinking and innovation
    • Develops and refines yearly sales strategy plans outlining marketing and sales objectives required to identify and contract clients in a defined sales territory
    • Analyzes and develops contingency plans related to competitors of EDS SOLCORP and to potential objections raised during the sales process
    • Manages the sales process, presentation and documentation activities for each prospective account associated with the sale of EDS SOLCORP software products
    • Identifies a sales pipeline that after the win statistics are approved, will meet financial targets
    • Ensures projects are priced to provide EDS SOLCORP with strong margin results
    • Develops a few client relationships who will act as sponsors and references for
  • EDS SOLCORP Relationship Management
    • Displays and demonstrates the ability to work within and across functional departments
    • Displays the ability to work with and build relationships with global remote departments
    • Displays and demonstrates the ability to communicate and interact across several levels of management and to make architecture and technology recommendations
    • Involves and works with appropriate internal EDS SOLCORP resources in support of the sales process and individual presentations to clients
    • Negotiates contracts with prospects and corporate attorneys and related activities to close the sale
    • Works closely with the Finance department on financials of the RFP process as well as the subsequent contract
    • Attends and support EDS SOLCORP's User Group Conferences
    • Attends industry functions to establish networks
  • Project Management
    • Demonstrates the ability to report on project plans and sales engagement progress Responsible for ongoing prospecting activities and development of campaigns designed to develop sales leads
    • Responsible for responding to requests for proposals (RFP's) or requests for information (RFI's) in a timely manner
  • Fiscal Responsibility and Management Reporting
    • Prepares accurate pipeline reports and sales forecasts as required Ensures margin integrity of all contracts
    • Prepares sales plan/strategy to support regional business plans
    • Responsible for ensuring all business is conducted with the utmost honesty and integrity in accordance with stated corporate policies and applicable laws and regulations
  • Staff Development
    • Responsible for ensuring staff values, morals and behaviour are in line with corporate values and culture
    • Supports and promotes effective communication and collaboration across global remote departments

Qualifications

  • Three to five years sales experience in the Software industry (insurance or financial services experience is an asset)
  • Seasoned sales person with established network of contacts University Degree in Business/Marketing or similar work experience
  • Proven ability to network and deal with senior executives
  • Background in sales support and/or marketing is a definite asset
  • Ability to interact with and determine roles played in the sales process by senior executives
  • Proven presentation skills and ability to conduct software demonstrations
  • Thorough understanding of the marketplace, industry/technology trends, competitors positioning of product offerings and ability to dynamically tailor the positioning of EDS SOLCORP software solutions for each client
  • Well-defined problem solving abilities in high-pressure situations
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Bilingual and international sales experience would be an asset
  • Occasional travel required
  • Ability to work within a globally diverse, matrix team environment
  • Ability to multi-task and work within a dynamic, flexible work environment
  • Demonstrated self motivation with a high degree of initiative Highly developed problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively
  • High energy, strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute a plan

INGENIUM Business Analysts, Contract Positions Available

We are accepting applications for the INGENIUM business analyst for North American and international projects. Reporting to an assigned project manager or team leader, the business analyst is responsible for contributing to meeting customer commitments according to plan. The business analyst is responsible for assisting in defining business requirements and the implementation of solutions, in order for customers to meet their business goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Writes and executes test conditions for routine or isolated programming changes, of moderate complexity
  • Contributes to the resolution of common system problems
  • Consults with customers to define needs or problem areas, and determines scope of investigation required to recommend possible solutions
  • Analyzes data to determine solutions for system processing according to the customer's business requirements
  • Constructs simple process flows
  • Works within EDS SOLCORP's project implementation methodology and follows applicable standards
  • Utilizes knowledge of both the life insurance industry and INGENIUM functionality to write complex functional specifications and performs various complex validity testing
  • Leads and provides direction to users and junior business team members
  • Consults with clients to define needs or problem areas, and determines scope of investigation required to recommend possible solutions

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of direct INGENIUM or CAPSIL implementation experience (Ideally Versions 6.1 and up)
  • In-depth knowledge of the Life Insurance industry Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent communications skills (oral, written, and presentation)
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Independent problem solving skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Strong math and/or actuarial background and/or stats background an asset
  • Familiarity with regulations around financial products would also be an asset (ideally across jurisdictions)
  • Flexibility with travel
  • A university degree/college diploma or equivalent business experience
